Frequently Asked Questions
How do you describe your style?
I treat photography like artistic photojournalism. I want to capture genuine moments, candidly as they happen and document how amazing things look. I won’t do any excessive posing or bossing around. I like to say I’m more of a coach. I’ll give you some direction and tell you what looks good and if anything looks a little weird, but I won’t be turning anyone into models. All my photos have the classic look of film. On wedding days, I'll use a mix of film and digital photos but the gallery will have a consistent film look. There’s more info on my "About Marcus" page if you’re interested.
How long will it take to get our pictures delivered?
I aim for 4-6 weeks. Don’t be surprised if they come sooner but fine tuning the images takes time and usually doesn’t happen overnight.
Can we meet you?
Of course! We’ll be spending a lot of time together so it never hurts to meet up ahead of time or talk on the phone and make sure we’re a good fit.
How do we secure a date and book?
I do everything first come, first serve. The first to place a deposit has the date.
Do you travel?
Absolutely! Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and I love the adventurous spirit of elopements and destination weddings. Just let me know some details and I’ll work with you to make it happen.
Do you backup our photos?
Definitely! I keep all the photos that I deliver to you for a full year after the event. I’m not about to let a hard drive dying take your pics. Any time during that year you can re-download them or just ask me to resend them. Beyond a year, you'll have the option to keep the gallery live and backed up.
Do you Photoshop photos?
Not really! I want the photos to look genuine to the day and genuine to the people in them. Obviously there’s always small things to retouch and perfect, but if you’re looking for major edits (tattoo removal, background changes, etc) we might not be a great fit.
Film? People still use that?
You bet! I love the look of film. It's timeless and nostalgic and everything I love. I'll often have a film camera with me and your final gallery will be a mix of film and digital photos. All my work will have a consistent film look to it. Ask me for more info if you're interested! I can talk about film all day. Savor the celluloid.
